About Us
Established in 2001
Founded over two decades ago, our Samhain Festival began as a small community gathering celebrating traditional Celtic music, storytelling, and the turning of the seasons. What started as a single evening of bonfire songs and local performers has since grown into a vibrant autumn event welcoming visitors from across the region. Each year, musicians, artists, and families come together to honour the spirit of the season through creativity, connection, and celebration.
Samhain marks the ancient Celtic New Year—the point where the harvest ends and winter begins. It is a time when the boundary between the physical world and the spirit world was believed to grow thin, inspiring traditions such as lantern carving, costumes, feasting, and remembrance. Our festival blends this rich cultural heritage with modern music and arts, creating a space where old stories, seasonal rituals, and contemporary performance meet. Whether you join us for the concerts, workshops, or festive atmosphere, the heart of Samhain remains at the centre of everything we do.
We look forward to seeing you there!
